How the FBA Profit Calculator works

The FBA Profit Calculator shows what you actually keep from each sale after Amazon takes its referral fee and fulfillment fee, after storage, after advertising, after returns, and after your own product and shipping costs.

Most sellers only subtract the product cost and the Amazon fees. That overstates profit because advertising and returns are real, recurring costs. FBAZone includes them by default so the number you see is closer to what lands in your bank account.

Formula

  • Net profit = Selling price − Product cost − Inbound shipping − Referral fee − FBA fee − Storage − Advertising − Returns − Misc
  • Margin = Net profit ÷ Selling price × 100
  • ROI = Net profit ÷ (Product cost + Inbound shipping) × 100
  • Break-even price = Fixed costs ÷ (1 − Referral% − PPC% − Return%)
  • Break-even ACoS = (Net profit + Advertising) ÷ Selling price × 100

Example

A $34.99 kitchen gadget costing $9 landed at $10.50 nets roughly $8–9 per unit, about 24% margin and 80% ROI.

Frequently asked questions

Which Amazon fees are included?

Referral fee (category percentage with minimum), FBA fulfillment fee (by size tier and weight), and monthly storage. Fee tables are maintained by the FBAZone admin and dated, so you can see which schedule was used.

Why is advertising included in profit?

Nearly every FBA product needs PPC to rank and sell. Leaving it out makes bad products look good. Set it to 0 if you truly run no ads.

What is a good FBA margin?

Most experienced sellers look for at least 15–20% net margin and 30–50% ROI for wholesale, and 25%+ margin for private label to cover launch advertising.

Is the FBA fee exact?

It is an estimate from the current fee table and your weight/dimensions. Amazon measures the packaged product, so verify in Seller Central before ordering.
