How the Referral Fee Calculator works
Amazon charges a referral fee on every sale, a percentage of the total sales price (item plus shipping/gift wrap). Most categories are 15%, some are 8% or tiered by price, and there is a minimum of $0.30 per item in most categories.
FBAZone stores referral rules in an editable fee table with effective dates, so when Amazon changes a rate the admin updates it in one place.
Formula
- Referral fee = max(Price × Category %, Minimum) (+ closing fee for media)
- Tiered categories apply a different % to the portion of price above the threshold (marginal) or to the whole price (band), depending on the category.
Example
Furniture: 15% on the first $200 and 10% above = $40.
Selling price: 300Amazon category: furniture
